Like many who start blogging, I recognised the best way to communicate with family and friends that : I am well, safe and unbitten by poisonous snakes is to write notes and send photos via the w.w.w.dot.whateverhappentoletters.
Firstly, I’m a pretty private person, but also, ‘do people really want to hear what I have to say’?
‘Grasping the nettle’ explains the new approach. I want a new career, and new experiences, and the thoroughly modern way is to market yourself on- line. I have resisted until now, but then the new me want’s to try a new approach. This is also permission for my readers to share this blog with anyone else you feel may be interested.
Leaving no stone unturned, I have read books, blogs and articles on, ‘how to write’, ‘ how to blog’ and, ‘how to make yourself accessible to more people’. This is not a natural position for me, and I have already broken some of the cardinal rules. I can’t spell, I can’t write fluently and I can’t – not- talk politically. ‘Be personable and be vulnerable’. Yes, I’m trying this. Then a top tip from a very new inciteful friend, ‘don’t overthink or constantly re -edit’. If I hadn’t listened to her, I would never have pressed the ‘publish’ button.
