Where have I been?

This is a question I asked myself today, after opening my blog for the first time in 11 months.

I would love to report that I have been on a world tour or something similar, but the truth is far less glamorous. For the last 7 months, bar a spot of Camel Wrestling (which itself had an educational theme ) I have gone from bed to studies, to bed, to studies. Doing a Masters degree is like being at work 24/5 : hard work, intense and very challenging…and yes, I’m loving it! It’s brilliant to learn something new every hour, and to be ‘teased’ in to thinking differently, about everything!

Although, I see that 3000 people have now read my little ditties, my intention was never to garner clicks, likes or friends, but a way of talking to my parents, family and friends when I’m a long way from home. Also for me to read and so re-live some of my last adventures. Seeing the image of a pregnant chameleon took me right back to that roadside glade in Madagascar with the ambience, darkness illuminated only by torchlight and the sounds of the night. I can see it, hear it and taste it all.

Off to Japan next week. I hope you can join? Although not part of my sustainable goals project, (on ‘ice’ whilst I do my Masters) it is nevertheless a country on my wish list. I can probably sell Japan as an Anthropology endeavour, but as Anthrozoological…. tough. I dont think they have Camel Wrestling there!
