After another glorious dawn over the desert, breakfast, stretching excercises, we packed up the jeep and the headed out for last patrol before returning to base camp.

Day 4 – Elephants seen, sadly, zero

Herman’s view was that the herd had probably covered 50km, since our last viewing, and that we would not catch up with them before darkness.

Only driving back to base camp, with my own thoughts, did I feel upset about this. It was not the disappointment of not seeing any elephants on the last day. No, I felt bereft that I may never see the herds again. More on this later, but I have decided to change my Namibia plans.

So, it’s an opportunity to share other animal sightings from the trip. It’s not all about elephants !
